Travel Safe @ YQT

Travel Safe and Confidently with Health & Safety Measures at YQT.

At the Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT), the health and safety of our passengers, employees, and the communities we serve is our top priority. The Thunder Bay International Airports Authority continues to monitor developments related to the coronavirus, which is why you'll see noticeable changes throughout our terminal to keep you safe while travelling into and out of our terminal building.

So, how are we helping you feel comfortable and confident while travelling?

Enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures are in effect throughout the terminal building, specifically in high touch point public areas such as public washrooms, departure and arrival areas, baggage carousels, and pick-up and drop-off areas.

Increased hand sanitizer stations throughout the terminal including at all entry points.

Enhanced Cleaning

Physical distancing floor decals are placed throughout the terminal, specifically in crowded areas such as arrivals and the baggage carousels to remind everyone to keep 6feet apart.

Baggage carts have been generalized to one specific pickup area and are frequently sanitized after every arrival.

Airport seating is continually being disinfected numerous times per day.

Areas throughout the terminal building are being sanitized with the use of a fogging machine. This allows for areas to be cleaned and sanitized exceptionally fast.

Seating areas have been reconfigured to reduce crowded seating areas and are spread out to allow for physical distancing.

Physical Distancing

15 minute free short-term parking is available to urge friends and family dropping off passengers to stay in their vehicle and not come into the terminal.

Specific areas of the terminal have been closed off to reduce touch points and spread of germs.

Unless exempt, a mandatory mask or face covering must be worn in the terminal building on all persons entering the building. This also includes all employees.
